Background  and  Purpose: Studies on entrepreneurship gained attention only thirty years ago and had since highlighted new venture creations and the processes towards quality entrepreneurial growth. Nonetheless, past researches had overlooked e-commerce ventures as one of the aspects of the psychology of entrepreneurship. A critical element in entrepreneurship, an entrepreneur, would be responsible for the creation and establishment of new ventures with suitable personality traits, cognition and motivation. This study, therefore, aimed to describe the importance of personality traits, cognition and motivation that can impact e-commerce new ventures creations in Malaysia.   Methodology: This study was designed as data for this study were collected using interviews on 12 entrepreneurs who ventured into e-commerce. These interviews were carried out from May 2013 to December 2014 using a multiple case study approach. Findings: Results from this study showed that seven personality traits, which were creativity, risk-taking, inspiration, autonomy and freedom, tolerance to ambiguity, diligence and persistence, as well as optimism, were the integral influence for new ventures in e-commerce. Cognitive aspects, such as personal background and experiences, as well as both internal and external motivation, also contributed to the creation of new ventures and developed their businesses. The need for achievement and interest were related to internal motivation, while interactions and networking with family members, customers, and industries, boosted external motivation.   Contributions: It is hoped that the Malaysian government would encourage more entrepreneurial activities within the country by identifying personality traits, motivation, and cognitive factors in potential entrepreneurs to expand the creations of new ventures further that can boost the economy of the country in the future. In addition, the recommendation of future study should explore the quantitative method to examine the relationship for each variable towards new venture creation in e-commerce.   Keywords: Entrepreneurship, new ventures creation, E-commerce, psychology, sociology.   Cite as: Md Fadzil, A. An entrepreneur is the main actor in entrepreneurship who is responsible for a new ventures creation. Most of the previous researchers had studied aspects of entrepreneurial cognitive and motivation have approached the process of new ventures creation in general, but overlooked on the e-commerce ventures. The past studies paid the least focus on entrepreneurial competencies which lead to e-commerce new venture creations. In order to fill the lacunae, this study aims to identify the role of cognitive, motivation and competencies that contribute to the creation of new e-commerce ventures in Malaysia. The case study approach was used by interviewing a total of 12 e-commerce entrepreneurs from May 2013 until December 2014. Enterprise architecture is very important to the public sector's IT systems that are developed, organized, scaled up, maintained and strategized. Despite an extensive literature, the research of enterprise architecture is still at the early stage in public the sector and the reason to explain the acceptance, as well as the understanding of the implementation level of EA services still remains unclear. Therefore, this study examines the implementation of EA by measuring the Malaysian public sector's influence factors of EA. Grounded by the Human-Organization-Technology (HOT-Fit) Model, this study proposes a conceptual framework by decomposing Human characteristics, Organizational characteristics and Technological characteristics as main categories in assessing the identified factors. A total of 92 respondents in the Malaysian public sector participated in this study. Structural Equation Modelling with Partial Least Square is the main statistical technique used in this study. The study has revealed that human characteristics such as knowledge and innovativeness to EA and technological characteristics such as relative advantage and complexity of EA influence its implementation by the Malaysian public sector. Based on the findings, the theoretical and practical implications of the study as well as limitations and future works are also discussed

Food delivery applications are rapidly expanding and have become popular and successful in many countries. However, this sector is still in its initial stage, particularly in developed and emerging markets. This research aims to evaluate factors that affect consumers’ intention to use food delivery applications in Malaysia. First, create customer encounters with food delivery by smartphone devices by introducing a diffusion of the innovation model. Five characteristics: relative advantage, compatibility, observability, complexity, and trialability, were used to assess consumer intention in food delivery applications. A total of 218 valid samples were obtained from Malaysian consumers. This research shows a positive influence on the intention. A five-attribute perception was used to determine the intention to use food delivery applications. Together, these results have a critical managerial impact on core players, for example, food delivery companies or restaurants. One of the main implications is that food delivery companies must make their applications easy to access, smooth, and enjoyable

The contribution of entrepreneurship to a country’s economic development through the creation of new products, innovation and the emergence of new ventures is so significant that it has attracted the interests of many researchers for about the past three decades. Since the concept of entrepreneurship has several dimensions, the researchers have used a variety of approaches and different perspectives to explain the phenomenon of new ventures as an underpinning theory of entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship has been recognized as one of the new branches of science comparable to other social sciences such as economics, psychology, sociology, and business that already have solid theories from their own respective perspectives. Most approaches to entrepreneurship theories are still not comprehensive enough to describe the phenomenon, thus, it is no surprise that many researchers use a variety of theories to explain the entrepreneurship phenomenon. In filling this gap, a qualitative approach was used to study the case of twelve new e - commerce businesses in Malaysia by using interview techniques to building a new theory of entrepreneurship. It is based on the statistic of companies involvement in Malaysia that pursue the potential of e-commerce is still less, which is hundred thousand out of seven hundred thousand SMEs registered have their own website even though capable of generating high income. In the early stages, researchers have used the theoretical approach suggested by Gartner, 1985 as the basis for the new venture creation process. However, after the process of data collection and analysis is done, the researchers used a new theoretical approach that is based on the Actor Network Theory (ANT) to describe the phenomenon. The process of building this theory is called sensitization tradition and this tradition has linked the role of non-human factors as a complement to the theory of the role of human factors. This is consistent with the results of this study that demonstrate the role of technology (non-human) as a complementary factor in building the theory of entrepreneurship in addition to the role of human as found in sociology and psychology. The emergence of the technology theme is considered to be a complementary to the underpinning theory by Gartner and mutually affecting the whole system in order to explain the issue of the e- commerce new venture creation process in Malaysia through the building of a new comprehensive model

This study is to examine the assimilation of cloud computing by measuring the organization's assimilation of cloud as well as performance in the Malaysian public sector. This study mainly integrates the Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI), Technology-Organization-Environment Framework (TOE) Human-Organization-Technology (HOT-fit) model and IS Success model to understand this issue. A total of 169 agencies from the Malaysian public sector have participated in this study. Data for all the study variables have been collected through self-administered survey questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS. The study has shown that the effect of the operational effectiveness of cloud implementation is at the lower level. The study also reveals that only factors of technological, organizational and human characteristics are found to have a significant effect on cloud computing implementation. The results indicate that the model provides a good understanding of the factors that influence the implementation of cloud computing as well as operational performance

The reason to explain the cloud computing assimilation, as well as the understanding of the operational performance, still remains unclear. To investigate this issue, this study has examined the assimilation of cloud computing by examining the organization’s implementation of cloud computing and performance in the Malaysian public sector. Grounded by the Diffusion of Innovation Theory (DOI), Technology-Organization-Environment Framework (TOE) and IS Success Model. Data for all the study variables have been collected through self-administered survey questionnaires and analysed using SEM-PLS. The study has shown that the effect of the operational effectiveness of cloud implementation is at a lower level. The study also reveals that factors of relative advantage, compatibility, perceived risks, top management support, and organizational readiness are found to have a significant effect on cloud computing implementation. However, both external support and government regulations are not significant to the cloud computing implementation in the Malaysian public sector. The results indicate that the model provides a good understanding of the factors that influence the implementation of cloud computing as well as operational performance
